The lucky cat figurine depicts a cat beckoning with an upright paw, and is usually displayed—often at the entrance—of shops, restaurants and other businesses. Some of the sculptures are electric or battery-powered and have a slow-moving paw.

The lucky cat is also called maneki-neko, the welcoming cat, money cat, happy cat, beckoning cat or fortune cat. The cats come in different colors, styles and degrees of ornateness. Common colors are white, black, gold and sometimes red. We pay tribute to the lucky cats by redesigning them as Lucky8Cats: modern, trendy versions.

The first series, Lucky8Cats Originals, is a collection of eight lucky cats in eye-catching colours. The series contains the colours Poppy Red, Emerald Green, Neon Blue, Neon Pink, Kittycat Pink, Dutch Orange, Jet Black and Pure White. Each of these carefully selected colors represents an emotion, spiritual meaning or special occasion.

The brand new Dutch Design series highlights the beauty of Dutch cities, landscapes and art. The first in this iconic series is the Amsterdam Cat, proudly showing the coat of arms of the city of Amsterdam. As a historical tribute, the team of Lucky8Cats has introduced Lucky Cat Day on June 18, when special festivities take place.
